Address dynamic wrinkles and folds with Botox injections

Jasper, Alabama, area patients with imperfections on the face, including fine lines and wrinkles around the upper third of the face, that want to turn back time without plastic surgery, are encouraged to ask a dermatologist about the benefits of Botox injections. Botox injections are a cosmetic solution for a wide range of areas on the face, including the dynamic wrinkles that develop from muscle tension. Dr. Tony Adar and his team at Alabama Dermatology and Rejuvenation Center are committed to providing solutions for patients who might otherwise consider a brow lift, blepharoplasty (eye surgery), or other plastic surgery procedures to achieve a more youthful appearance. With Botox, patients can combat these concerns quickly and easily with a much less invasive solution. Continue reading to learn more about Botox and how it works!

What is Botox?

Patient with Injection

Dr. Adar describes Botox as a purified protein that temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet near the eyes in adult men and women. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, causing them to relax and soften.

How long do Botox results last?

Results are typically seen within a few days and can last for up to four months. At this point, many patients will continue to get regular Botox injections to maintain their new look.

Where can Botox be used?

Botox is most commonly used on the face but can also be used for excessive sweating (underarms, palms), migraines, bladder control issues, TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), and muscle spasms. It should only be administered by a trained medical professional.
